Greetings in the Sovereign Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Over the years, the session and congregation at Christ Covenant Reformed (PCA) have celebrated the Lord's Supper sparingly and thoughtfully. We began a local tradition of supping together quarterly in any month with a fifth Lord's Day. To further set that Lord's Day apart, we would dedicate the offering of that special Day to the Deacon's Fund. In recent years, with the addition of a younger generation and the growing in grace and knowledge of the whole congregation - we have had to reassess our perceptions and practices. Currently we are beginning a monthly celebration in the Year of Our Lord 2003. And in order to understand better that which we do as commanded by our Lord, we are studying the traditions and confessions of men to make certain they reflect the better and higher instructions of the revealed world. As some of the meditations and articles suggest, this slow change on our part is not a willy-nilly jump into the contemporary scene, but a slow deliberate process to ascertain the teachings of the Scriptures, the practice of Biblical Christians and a careful biblical subjection of the Westminster Confession of Faith: to which we as elders, ruling and teaching in the Presbyterian Church of America: subscribe. As you read and study through the same issues which we face, we pray the Lord's blessing.
